We’re retiring the Collections feature on Peerlist. This article explains what’s changing, why we made this decision, and how you can download a copy of your collection data before it’s removed.

What’s happening

Collections is being phased out in two steps:
DateWhat changes
June 8, 2026Collections becomes read-only. You can no longer create, edit, or reorder collections. Your existing collections stay visible, and data download becomes available.
July 1, 2026All collection data is permanently deleted. Collection pages and links will no longer be accessible after this date.
Please download your data before June 30, 2026. After July 1, collection data cannot be recovered.

Why we’re sunsetting Collections

When we built Collections, we hoped it would give you a creative way to showcase your work, share what you’re into, and spark conversations when someone visited your profile. Over time, Collections didn’t see the level of adoption we’d hoped for. After careful thought, we decided it was better to step back from the feature rather than leave it half-supported. This is also part of a larger effort to declutter the Peerlist profile. Peerlist began with profiles at its core, and a lot has changed since then, especially with the rise of AI. We believe your profile should evolve to reflect that. Removing features that aren’t earning their place is the first step toward building better, more meaningful ways to help you showcase your work and credibility. We’re grateful to everyone who used Collections and shared feedback along the way. It genuinely informs what we build next.

How to download your collection data

You can export your collections as a JSON file, which includes each collection’s title, type, and all of its saved items (titles, links, descriptions, and more).
Downloading your data is currently available on the web only (peerlist.io). It isn’t supported in the mobile apps. If you’re on mobile, please open Peerlist in a desktop or mobile browser to download.

Steps

  1. Open Peerlist in a web browser and sign in.
  2. Go to your profile or open the Collections section.
  3. Look for the “Peerlist Collections is being retired” banner.
  4. Click Download as JSON.
  5. A file named peerlist-collections-YOUR-USERNAME-DATE.json will be saved to your device.

What’s included in the download

  • Your username and name
  • Each collection’s title, type, and item count
  • Every item in each collection: title, URL, image, description, type, author, and the date it was added
  • The export date and the scheduled deletion date, for your reference

When can I download?

Data download is available from June 8, 2026 and will remain available until the deletion date. Deadline: download before June 30, 2026. Collection data is permanently deleted on July 1, 2026 and cannot be restored afterward.
